Flawed & fragile
Never letting it show
Crumbling inside, but only she would know
Searching for acceptance
Enough is what she longed to be
Emotions bottled up
When they needed to be set free
Thoughts running wild, alone in her head
A world where she mattered, that dream was dead
Love after pain, not forced but free will
Yearning for the hurt to stop, if only there were a pill
Day in & day out, she hopes to be seen
Hurting people the way she hurts, she wasn't very keen
Lost in the shadows, she searches for her way
Alone in the darkness, she's afraid to stay
Reaching for a hand that she will never find
Realizing she's alone, she is stuck in her mind
At the end of it all, she wishes they could see
That all she really wanted was to matter & be set free

About This Poem

Flawed & Fragile was written during a time when I was struggling to recognize my own worth and find the courage to choose myself. The poem reflects the internal conflict of wanting to be seen, accepted, and loved while quietly falling apart behind closed doors.

I wrote this piece because sometimes the things we cannot say out loud find their way onto paper. For me, writing became a way to acknowledge the pain I had been carrying and to give a voice to the part of me that simply wanted to matter and be free.

This poem is not about being perfect or having everything figured out. It is about being human—flawed, fragile, hurting, and still searching for a way forward. I hope whoever reads it can find a piece of themselves within these words, and perhaps feel a little less alone.
