Our stance: the community speaks, the organization does not

The Alumniyat Poetry Community is a place for poets to share their work. Every poem expresses the views of its author, not those of Alumniyat. We do not screen members or poems by belief, religion, politics, background, or identity, and we do not use our platform to promote any political, social, or religious position. The organization stays neutral so that every member can feel at home here.

What appears where

Your poet page and your poem's link are your own space. A published poem is always available there.
The homepage “Latest Poems” feed and the Browse pages are automatic and chronological. A poem appearing there means only that it was recently posted; it does not mean Alumniyat endorses it.
Featured, Editor's Pick, competition winners, the newsletter, and our social channels are the only places where the organization makes a choice. Those choices are made on poetic merit only, and we never select a poem for its political, social, or religious message.

Content we keep out of the public feeds and competitions

These rules are content-neutral: they apply to every poem regardless of its subject, viewpoint, or who wrote it. A poem in one of these categories may be made unlisted: it stays on the poet's page and at its direct link, but it is removed from the homepage, the Browse and category pages, the leaderboards, and the monthly competition.

Sexually explicit content. Graphic descriptions of sexual acts. Love, longing, and the body treated with literary restraint are welcome.
Hate or harassment. Content that attacks or demeans people for their religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other group identity, or that targets a specific person.
Political campaigning. Content whose purpose is to promote or oppose a party, candidate, ballot measure, or government.
Incitement. Calls to violence or celebration of violence against real people or groups.
Spam and off-topic material. Advertising, links to unrelated services, or text that is not a poem.

A poem that is not in any of these categories stays listed, whatever its subject. We do not unlist poems because a topic is uncomfortable, controversial, or disagreed with by some members.

Content we remove entirely

Illegal content, plagiarism, impersonation, and personal information about others will be removed, and the account may be suspended. Repeated spam or harassment leads to suspension.

Comments

Comments follow the same rules. Disagree with a poem freely, but do it with respect for the poet.

Questions or appeals

If your poem was unlisted or removed and you believe the guidelines were misapplied, contact us. We read every appeal.
