Now who’s idea
Really who

Was to split us
To red and blue?

Not gold and green
Or a color of shoe

But blue and red
Or red and blue.

And who’s idea
Really who

Was to call it
A party too?

This isn’t a celebration
For you

And the parties were
Red and blue.

And who’s idea
Really who

Was to make it matter
To me and you?

So much it matters
As I’m given a clue

That we hurt each other
Yes, that’s true.

And why is this
What we do?

Because of the colors
Red and blue
